Hello and welcome!

I'm happy you're here to learn about my Course and Group Coaching program.

Being in the media separates those who are viewed as leaders from the rest of the pack. Nothing says you're the real deal and credible more than having media logos on your websites, books or products.

The number one reason people struggle is because a lack of visibility. It simply comes down to not enough people know about their business, blog or book.

I know first-hand what a total game-changer and momentum builder getting in the media and doing effective online marketing is.

After receiving a Master's in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College in Boston, I began my career working as an entertainment publicist on American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Gilmore Girls, Malcolm in the Middle and several other award-winning TV shows.

It wasn't until I left the PR firm though, and founded Savvy Miss, an online community dedicated to connecting, empowering and informing women around the world, that I understood how powerful publicity and online marketing could be for entrepreneurs, bloggers, authors, coaches and small businesses.

Our first year in business, we were like the little engine that could. Our team consisted of a handful of women (and one very savvy guy!) all under 30 years-old and we operated on a total shoe-string budget.

We didn't have VC's or any major financial backing, but we had a lot of heart and somehow "the little engine that could" was named a Forbes a Top 100 Website for Women and took home a handful of W3 awards including Best Writing and Content for a Lifestyle Website and Best Lifestyle Website Overall.

We also landed incredible interviews with top newsmakers including Arianna Huffington, Candace Bushnell, Lisa Ling, Dr. Drew, Gloria Allred, Padma Lakshmi, Nikki Taylor, India Arie, Sue Johannson, Tammy Duckworth, Lisa Nichols and Nancy Juvoven to name a few.

In the 14+ years I’ve worked in the media I’ve worked in all sides as an award-winning journalist and publisher, an entertainment publicist for award-winning TV clients and as an award-winning entrepreneur.

I have a Master of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College in Boston where I received two Associated Press awards.

I’m also a former entertainment publicist and have represented several award-winning TV clients including American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Gilmore Girls, Bernie Mac and Malcolm in the Middle.

I’ve been a serial entrepreneur since the first grade when I opened my first lemonade stand and since have founded both Savvy Miss, a Forbes Top 100 Website for Women, and Good Day Consulting, a boutique consulting company dedicated to helping entrepreneurs, artists and small-businesses prosper.

How the Course Works

This course shows you step-by-step how to get in magazines, TV, radio, podcasts and online media and do savvy online marketing.

There are 6 modules and each includes a video lesson and workbook. (Video lessons average 25-minutes.) You also receive pitch templates, real pitch examples and an entire library of bonus resources available in a private member area.

You can choose to do the course on your own, join the Group Coaching program or work with me one-on-one.

As soon as you register, you'll receive a personalized username and password to access the private member area where you'll find all the course modules, videos, worksheets, bonus resources and training materials.

The course is designed to be done in 6 weeks (1 module/week), but you'll receive immediate access to all 6 modules and can completely go at your own pace.

Students who've seen the best results recommend doing 1 module each week, but if you prefer to binge it like a good Netflix series or savor it over the course of a few months or years, you have lifetime access and can go at your own pace and do it anytime and from anywhere you can go online.

What The Modules Cover

    Module One: Essential First Steps for Successful PR and Publicity

    In this first module you'll get started off on the right foot for doing successful and smart PR and Publicity.

    You'll learn exactly how to get three essential tools in place that you'll use throughout your time doing publicity.

    There are several types of media these days and you'll discover from the get-go the types that are best for you to focus on.

    You'll also determine your number one objective and get clear on what you want to accomplish doing PR and publicity, set both short and long-term goals and establish a healthy mindset for putting yourself out there.

    Module Two: What the Media Truly Wants From You

    In module two you'll clarify who you want to connect with through the media so you can avoid wasting time and effort targeting the wrong audience.

    You'll begin dialoguing with your audience and learn how this simple exercise will put you ahead of the pack when it comes to doing interviews.

    You'll discover what the media looks for in a story, how to use the media to reach your audience and what every pitch must include.

    Lastly, in module two you'll begin crafting stories the media and world are guaranteed to fall in love with!

    Module Three: Getting to Know and Love the Media

    In module three you'll find out which specific media outlets are best for you to target. 

    You'll also find out who you should contact at media outlets. There are several types of journalists and in this module you'll learn who best to reach out to with your pitches.

    You'll learn how to find contact information for editors, producers, writers, bookers, hosts and other journalists including phone numbers, email addresses and other ways to connect.

    Lastly, you'll receive insider secrets for building genuine, mutually beneficial, long-lasting relationships with members of the media and find out why it will help you for decades to come. 

    Module Four: Pitching the Media: Everything You Need to Know

    In module four you'll learn everything you need to know about pitching including:

    Who to pitch, how to pitch, what to pitch, what your subject line should be, and when to pitch - including the best days and times to pitch media.

    You'll create a realistic and straight forward publicity plan, or media strategy to follow. This way you'll know exactly what to do and when - to avoid confusion and overwhelm.

    You'll also find out the musts and must nots for successful pitches.

    Module Five: What to do After You Pitch

    In module five you'll find out what to do if you don't hear back from the media after you send a pitch.

    In this final module, you'll learn how to show up as your best self so you can nail every media appearance.
